ABOUT REDEMPTION TIME

Baca’s life story, marked by early challenges and a transformative journey from incarceration to literary recognition, resonates deeply with the theme of redemption. He’s a living testament to the power of self-improvement and creativity in the face of adversity. Howes, on the other hand, represents the world of music and artistry, demonstrating that even the darkest times can lead to incredible opportunities.

“the volatile substance that made us who we are we churn in the musical and poetic thrasher and mill it fine into a sublime nourishment for the heart and soul of our listeners”

Our prisons are public health problems. The consequences of ‘ACEs - Adverse Childhood Experiences’ - are abundantly evident there. Yet these damaged souls are further traumatized by inhumane conditions. Jimmy and Chris found their way through, a credit to the human spirit nurtured by music, by poetry, by finding their voices. Let us listen, then be moved to action.
